Does ChatGPT show ads?
On some plans, yes. OpenAI began testing advertising for Free and Go users in the United States in February 2026 and has since extended it to further markets. The paid Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans remain ad-free. If sponsored content appearing alongside answers bothers you, that is a reason to pay for at least Plus.
Is ChatGPT better than Claude or Gemini?
It depends on the job. ChatGPT is the strongest all-rounder and has the widest feature set, including image generation and voice. Claude tends to win on long-form writing quality and sustained agentic coding. Gemini wins if you live in Gmail, Docs and Drive, or want video generation. For a single general assistant, ChatGPT is the safest pick.
